Aims: Following on from PH1110, to introduce students to some more advanced mathematical concepts that are used in undergraduate physics courses and to develop further their problem-solving skills.
Learning outcomes: The ability to solve problems involving more than one variable, to use matrices and solve eigenvalue problems, to manipulate vector differential operators (grad, div and curl) and explain their physical significance.
