19-20 PE3000: Advanced Seminar and Dissertation in Politics, Philosophy and Economics

A distinctive feature of the Royal Holloway PPE programme is its final year dissertation course. Students will be assigned a supervisor in politics, philosophy or economics, as appropriate to their proposed dissertation topics. The supervisor will provide one-on-one supervision and advice over the duration of the dissertation to support the student in writing a 8,000 word dissertation based on independent research. An advanced seminar in politics, philosophy and economics will form part of the dissertation course.

Autumn Term will consist of advanced topics taught by members of staff from the three disciplines. The principle aim of this term is to help you develop your dissertation topic. The content of Spring Term will be determined by the students themselves, who will be tasked with organizing individual seminars on their dissertation research. The student who organizes his or her seminar will assign readings, provide discussion questions, and lead these seminars, with fellow students providing feedback on their topics and on the arguments that are presented and put into the discussion.
