First seminar: Tuesday 1 October, 3.00-5.00pm, in Windsor Building, Room 0-05
4-8 November, reading week (no seminar)
Final seminar: Tuesday 10 December
Term 1 essay is due Wednesday 4 December 2019 at 12 noon.

TERM 2
13 January - 27 March 2020
First seminar: Tuesday 14 January, 3.00-5.00pm, in Bedford Building, Room 0-07.
17-21 February, reading week (no seminar)
Final seminar: Tuesday 24 March
Term 1 essay is due Wednesday 18 March 2020 at 12 noon.

ESSAYS
Essays of 2,500 word-length. Students must submit an essay one one date in term 1 and one date in term 2. Essay topics are included in the course syllabus.

Assessment: three-hour exam (60%); coursework, i.e. best one of two 2,500-word essays (30%); oral presentation (10%)
