Important Information for Students on Moodle Course Availability

You may not see a full list of all your expected courses in your Moodle My Courses list or in this category. This does not necessarily mean that your course registrations are incorrect. There are two possible reasons:

  • Departments/Tutors make courses visible to Students in Moodle when the course is ready for teaching
  • Not all courses use Moodle.

You can use the Study tab in Campus Connect to check the courses you are registered for or contact your department who can also provide information on their use of Moodle.

This course aims to provide students with a foundational knowledge of Enterprises Systems and uses SAP's ERP system as a conduit to developing that knowledge.

The research dissertation is a very important part of your Master’s degree. It is your opportunity to learn and practise researching and writing skills, which you will need in your career. It is the part of your programme where you can apply the analytical and problem-solving techniques you have acquired during your studies to explore a specialist interest in greater depth. Although demanding, students often find the dissertation one of the most rewarding aspects of their Master’s experience.

This course centres on the concept of ‘hybrid management’ and its application in organisations where new and existing working practices are becoming increasingly dependent upon the effective integration of business and technology.
The objectives are to provide students with specialist insights, delivered by experienced industry professionals, into the constraints and opportunities facing those who work in related fields of business and technology.
There is also considerable emphasis placed on developing a range of perspectives on how to cultivate, plan and deliver technology-led business innovations and how best to communicate and promote these innovations in layman’s terms.

19-20 BI5675: Database & Web Technologies

This course provides an introduction to the core concepts in data and information management. It is centered around the core skills of identifying organizational information requirements, modelling them using conceptual data modelling techniques, converting the conceptual data models into relational data models, and implementing and utilizing a relational database using an industrial-strength database management system.
In addition, the course covers how the Internet works and its key protocols. Within that context, it then addresses the technologies used for web development, including scripting languages and their potential. Web Services and related technologies are also covered as well as aspects of network security.

19-20 BI5691: E-Business

The course draws together a wide variety of conceptual models and frameworks, existing empirical research, statistical and case study material to provide a coherent insight into e-business from a management perspective. In doing so, it will focus upon the contribution of e-business technologies to the effectiveness and efficiency of both large and small entrepreneurial firms and the impact that these are having on business and industry at large. The course will be case-orientated; students will be given cases to analyse and discuss with reference to relevant management concepts. There will also be contributions from practitioners.

• Demonstrate an advanced understanding of strategic importance of digital technologies
• Analyse how digital technologies transform traditional businesses and enable new business models
